All classes last for two hours with a 10 minute drink and snack break. The students are required to provide their own snack and drink. At dreams we promote healthy eating so we do ask that their snack does not involve crisps, chocolate or fizzy drinks.

Please arrive to class on time ready to start. You should always wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. preferably black trousers with comfortable shoes. There should be no jeans, skirts or high shoes as these will restrict your child in the class.

In detail
dance

The dance we will be teaching will help improve your childs co-ordination and Rhythm. By choosing up to date music as well as musical Theatre songs to dance to, your child will be keeping fit whilst having fun. It is important to combine all the three disciplines of dance, drama and singing and therefore we will on a regular basis work on dancing and singing at the same time and very often with an acting scene before.

Dance

acting

60% of the class will consist of acting. There will be regular exercises in voice to improve articulation and projection. There will be drama based games, scripted scenes, improvisations and lots of fun. Drama increases your childs confidence in a safe environment, the ability to be able to listen and watch your fellow classmates also helps with concentration. Very often children who find it hard to express themselves come alive in a drama class and levels of communication are rapidly improved.

singing

In our singing classes we aim to increase the childrens confidence in singing by placing the emphasis on it being fun rather than scary. We choose songs to work on that are suitable for the age group be it musical theatre, pop, Disney or traditional. Each week we will work on singing exercises including scales and breathing techniques.
